Today, we got a YouTube update on views. See below - This email presents as if YouTube is all about playing by the rules. We will share some of our experiences and present our concerns on how views, subscribers and more can be manipulated that is dependent not only on algorithms put forth, but also external forces controlling the system in this section. Most importantly, as presented before, these kinds of platforms provide another avenue for those with resources to gain even more popularity, while the platform provider claims it to be a way of democratization. If it is a way of democratization, then the best way would be to offer ways for creative minds to present it in their own platform. Though the reach might be limited, those who really appreciate that creativity will come back and support those entities or individuals.
